Jack grew up in Winnepeg, Manitoba and attended college there. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot and served in England in WWII.  He was a Flight Lieutenant and pilot trainer and served at a number of bases in England throughout the war. In 2015 , he was thrilled to be one of the first two Canadian WWII veterans to be able to go on the Indy Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2015.  It was an amazing trip.
When he returned from WWII, he moved to Minnesota for a job with Green Giant Foods.  He also traveled for his work and on one of his trips through Illinois he ask the hotel manager to meet the lady who called him each morning for his wake up call.  Her name was Opal Mae Phipps. They fell in love and were married on March 17th, 1950. Jack and Opal moved to Remington, Indiana and in November of 1952, their only child Marilyn was born. Opal passed away in 2011 after 61 years of Marriage.
Jack loved trying new things, even in his work.  He worked in a hatchery selling baby chicks, a feed store, sales for Motorola and Marconi radios, he ran a delivery service and he sold insurance.  In the early 1970’s he started the first Airport Limosine service in Indianapolis. Finally, in his retirement years he and Opal owned and operated a tax preparation service in Lawrence.
Jack and Opal loved travel, especially with their travel trailer. He was a true adventurer and loved seeing new things across this country and the world. He loved sailing and had a number of boats through the years.
He loved spending time with family, his Daughter and Son in law, Marilyn and Max Frodge or his Grandchildren, Adam and his wife Meg, Erin and her husband Caleb.  He also had four Great grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face, Viola, Lilly, Josiah and Roselyn. He had many nieces and nephews both in US and Canada.  Jack and Opal both were blessed by our extended Frodge family and many dear friends through the years.
He attended Hope the Breakfast Church in Carmel for over 30 years.  Jack’s celebration service will be at Hope Church, 2500 E. 98th Street Indpls at 5 pm, Monday, June 19th.  Visitation will also be on Monday from 3-5 pm.  There will be a Graveside service on Tuesday, June 20th at 10:30 am at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, In. Marilyn, I was so sad to hear of your Dad’s passing. I lost my Dad in 2007 and know how hard it is. I remember Mr. G’s smile and how he and your Mom loved you. He got to see his grandkids, and that is so special. Take care.
